On March 23rd 2025, I performed at a memorable concert with my bassoon, joined by two talented flutists – Jana Ancāne and Una Elizabete Roba – for a trio and then a solo spotlight. Our trio brought vibrant energy to Georges Bizet’s “Aragonaise” from “Carmen Suite”, its lively rhythms and interplay captivating the audience. For my solo, I poured my heart into Jāzeps Lipšāns’ “Skaņdarbs fagotam”, a piece that showcased the bassoon’s rich, expressive range. The blend of our instruments and the contrast between the spirited trio and introspective solo made the evening truly special.
