From July 16th to 25th in 2025, I attended an exhilarating music masterclass in Sigulda, where I immersed myself in learning, performing, and connecting. I sharpened my skills with new techniques under the guidance of a master bassoonist Normunds Zvejnieks. A highlight was performing in ensembles, including John Cage’s experimental “Five,” which challenged my sense of space and timing, and a vibrant bassoon quintet arrangement of Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango” by E. Vilkovsky, which pulsed with rhythmic energy. Evening concerts inspired fresh ideas, while meeting fellow musicians fostered new friendships over shared passion and late-night discussions. It was a transformative experience that fueled my growth as a musician.
